The Department of Social Work was started in Y2001 by Rev. Fr. K. C. George S. J, a ‘Veteran Social Worker’ Awardee by the Government of Kerala. He was the first Principal, and Director of the college and first HOD the Department.
More than 600 students have passed out in the specializations of Community Development & Empowerment, Human Resource & Management and Medical & Psychiatric Social Work. They are serving presently in local / state /national /international level organizations as entry /middle level executives.
Presently, 80 students from various parts of India are undergoing the social work education. It is a co-education Department. There are 40 students in the first year and 40 students in the second year course. There are 5 full time faculties (2 female & 3 Male).
